In Short

Just had a fantastic week on a Green Woodworking course run by Mike Abbott to make a chair.

Having only had a little previous experience in green woodworking techniques I was concerned beforehand that making a chair might be too much for me to take on. However, having Mike's experience at hand meant there was a good chance of coming home with a sturdy and beautiful piece of furniture.

The finished article - A lath backed chair

The Woodland Workshop and domestic facilities were excellent and for those interested here is a diary devoted to their construction.

As well as learning a lot about green woodworking and coming away with a lovely chair the week was also an excellent holiday. Having a week away in this woodland "bubble" really lifted my spirits and may have either saved me from, or given me a mid-life crisis (not sure which yet). So to round off this post I've added a page devoted to the (for want of a better term) "side effects" of making chairs in the woods with your green woodworking brothers and sisters.
